Bali Trip Day 1 : Villas and Beach Clubs

Bali

We took a morning flight from Singapore to Bali via Singapore Airlines and we reached the Denpasar International Airport in about 2 and a half hours. We passed through immigration rather smoothly and quickly. After which we took a cab to our villa in Seminyak. We went to the official taxi booth and we were quoted 200K IDR for the taxi which we knew was a rip off but we did not have any other choice.
We stayed at Hu'u Villas which is conveniently located close to the beach and the popular Potato Head beach club. We had Lychee Martini as a welcome drink at the bar while waiting for our villa to be ready.

The villa is very spacious and comes with a good sized lap pool. The foyer, living room and bathroom are located on the ground level while the bedroom is on the second level. The bedroom has an attached toilet so that there is no need to run downstairs for urgent business.

In addition to the daily house cleaning service, the villa also provide a turn down service in the evening. In the evening, we returned to a comfortably cooled villa with lights switched on, curtains drawn and mosquito coils lighted. The Villa also provided complimentary desserts which was placed on the dining table. Our stay at Hu'u Villas was generally comfortable. However we could hear loud music from Hu'u Bar in the wee hours and this was certainty not conducive for a good night sleep.

We had lunch at Biku which was about 5 minutes stroll from the villa where we stayed. We ordered the high tea set which provided a good selection of desserts and sandwiches. We also tried the nasi campur which is a local dish comprising rice with small portions of meat and vegetable.

Bali is famous for its legendary sunset and many people flock to the beach in the evening to view the sunset. We went to the Petitenget Beach to have a first hand experience of the picturesque sunset. It was awesome as we watched the dramatic sunset amidst the rolling waves and golden sands.

We had dinner at Potato Head which is located on the beachfront. It has two restaurants and a nice infinity pool overlooking the beach. The party atmosphere and panoramic view of the beach contribute to a wonderful dining experience.
