Bali Trip Day 3 : Shopping and Spas

Bali Revolver CafeWe had our breakfast at Revolver cafe. Our choice of breakfast comprising the pancakes and toasts were good while the cappuccino and mocha were just okay.

We took a taxi from our villa to Seminyak Square. Although the meter shows 10K IDR, however we had to pay 30K IDR which is the minimum charge for taxi booking. Hence it is better to hail a taxi from the streets. Seminyak Square is a two storey complex which brings together a number of lifestyle shops under one roof. There is also a row of street stalls selling handicrafts and clothes located just besides Seminyak Square. There are no fixed price for merchandise at the street stalls and customers are free to bargain with the street vendors.
Bali Seminyak SquareThere are many boutique shops located in Seminyak. The shops are not located together and it can be a bit of hassle to hop from one to another under the hot sun. The good thing is that the shops are air-conditioned which offer a good respite from the heat. The shops in the area mostly offer designer stuff with prices at the higher end.

We took a taxi to Krisna Oleh Oleh which is a shop offering clothes, foodstuff and souvenirs at local prices. Prices are fixed and no bargaining is allowed. However the quality of the items are not as good.

After that, we went to Nasi Ayam Kedewatan Inu Mangku for lunch. The cafe is frequent by the locals and serves only Nasi Campur. Although there was nothing special about the meal, this was certaintly the most affordable meal that we had so far.
Bali Nasi Ayam Kedewatan Inu MangkuWe went on to Petitenget Cafe for desserts. The desserts were rich in flavor which would appeal to diners with sweet tooth. As the afternoon was quite sunny, we went back to our villa for a relaxing dip in our private pool.

Bali Petitenget CafeA lot of the popular restaurants were fully booked in the evening. Fortunately we managed to settle for a quick dinner at Motel Mexicola. The cafe was lighted up in bright colors in the evening which provided a lively ambiance for dining. We had the set menu which comprised pork ribs and a couple of side dishes.

A trip to Bali is never complete without an indulgence at a spa. We are spoiled for choices as there are many to choose from in Bali. We decided to have our massage at the Sundari Day Spa which was located a few minutes drive from our villa. We were served chilled tea before the start of the spa and we were able to choose the type of oil and pressure for our massage. Our massage was done in a couple room with shower facilities. The massage was relaxing and helped to sooth away the body aches from the trekking in the past few days in Bali. After the spa, we were served with hot ginger tea. The overall experience was certainty rejuvenating!
