Thailand Trip Day 6 : Bangkok Wat Pho & Terminal 21

Continental breakfast was served at the hotel. The breakfast area was small and it was constantly filled with guests. Although there were not many choices for breakfast, it was sufficient to provide us with the energy to start the day.
After breakfast, we took a cab to Wat Pho. We paid a flat fare of 100 THB and it took us about 15 minutes to get there from our hotel. Wat Pho was one of the oldest Buddhist temple in Bangkok. The complex was very big and contained the largest collection of Buddhist images in Thailand.

The highlight of Wat Pho was the Reclining BuddhaThe figure was one of the largest statues in Thailand and it symbolized the entry of Buddha into Nirvana.
In the afternoon, we went to Terminal 21. Terminal 21 was a lifestyle shopping mall with a travel theme. The moment we entered the premise, we felt like we were in an airport terminal. There was a big electronic signboard that resembled flight information display and information desk personnel were dressed in air crew uniform. The unique experience extended to each level of the mall where iconic destinations from around the world were showcased.

We settled our lunch at Pier 21 food court located on fifth level of the mall. The food court had a wide selection of food at very affordable prices. Payment for food was done via stored value card which could be purchased at the food court counter. Any unused value would be refunded upon return of the card.

We spent the rest of the afternoon shopping at the many retail shops at Terminal 21. After that we proceed to Baan Ying Cafe & Meal for our dinner. The restaurant had a great selection of fusion food which provided diners with an alternative choice in addition to traditional Thai specialties.
