Korea Trip Day 3 : Jungang Park & Seohyeon-Dong

It was always nice to visit Korea in the autumn as we could enjoy the cool weather and at the same time view the beautiful autumn foliage. At this time of the year, we could see trees with colorful leaves everywhere in Seongnam.

We had breakfast at Holly's Coffee which was located a few minutes away from our hotel. The warm and soft sandwich together with the aromatic coffee provided the boost to kick start our day.
After breakfast, we ventured to Jungang Park which was a huge green space in the heart of Seongnam. It offered a place for people to rest and relax amidst the busy city life. While walking along the foot trail, we came across a maple tree which stood out with its ruby red crowning glory.

Further down, the trail led us to a vast open space where the Sunae-dong House stands. The Korean traditional house with a thatched roof was reminiscent of the typical housing style during the Joseon Dynasty era.

After some peace and quiet in the park, we returned to the vibrant area around the Seohyeon station. AK Plaza stood right in the middle with access to the station via the basement. AK Plaza was a shopping complex which carried a variety of domestic and international brands. A pedestrian street lined with cafes and restaurants extended from both side of the entrances to AK Plaza. There were certainly lots of choices for shopping or food in this area. We had a simple lunch comprising a burger and a drink at Dunkin Donuts.

In the late afternoon, street stalls began to operate along the wide pedestrian walkway. One particular stall was selling Hotteok which is a Korean sweet pancake. The pancake was prepared on the spot and piping hot when it reached our hands. It was a great snack to chew on while taking a break from the shopping.

As the day turned into evening, the stream of people flowing into the area started to increase. Very soon, the streets were bustling with people as this was one of the main area to go for food, shopping or entertainment.
