We arrived at Haneda Airport and took a cab to our hotel Mercure Tokyo Ginza. Traffic was relatively smooth and we reached our destination in about fifteen minutes. The location of the hotel was great as it was conveniently located in the vicinity of Ginza with lots of boutique shops and restaurants. The room was simple and comfortable enough for our stay.
Ginza was considered as the upmarket shopping and entertainment district in Tokyo. We could see many international leading brands in the neighborhood. These brands definitely made their presence felt with their massive buildings sporting impressive and eye catching facade.
We had dinner at Ippudo Ramen which was located about five minute walk from where we stayed. The ramen and gyoza were delicious and served well to satisfy our hunger.
After dinner, we strolled along Nakadori Street where the trees were decorated with fairy lights. At this time of the year, many places in Tokyo had started to put up lighting to celebrate the Christmas season.
We went to the rooftop garden at Kitte Department Store where we had a nice panoramic view of the Tokyo Station. The facade of the station was lit up in the evening which made it stand out prominently among the skyscrapers.
