Upon arrival at Incheon airport, we took a cab to our accommodation at Gallery Hotel in Seongnam. Seongnam is a city to the southeast of Seoul and it is well connected to Seoul via its extensive transportation network. The hotel is located near Seohyeon station with many restaurants, cafes and shops in the area. While the decor of the hotel room was dated, the room was well maintained with the necessary amenities provided.
We settled for dinner at 서울24시감자탕 서현점 near the hotel. A lot of the local restaurants and shops in the vicinity did not have an English name and it was a bit inconvenient trying to locate the places that we want to visit. We ordered a hotpot set which came with a huge serving of pork and vegetables. Fortunately the broth and the dishes were tasty and we managed to finish most of the food.
Before heading back to the hotel, we went to visit the nearby Lotte Mart. We managed to get our favorite Korean snacks and tidbits to bring back home.
