We arrived in London after one hour and twenty minutes flight from Amsterdam. We took the metro from Heathrow Airport to Earl's Court station and walked about ten minutes before reaching our accommodation, the Millennium Bailey's Hotel. The Millennium Bailey's Hotel is a historic hotel dated all the way to the late nineteen century. The facade of the building retains the Victorian style and its interior decorated with Victorian furnishing.

After checking in, we took the metro to Knightsbridge where Harrods is. The upmarket department store is huge and offers variety of goods and services. The interior of the mall is decorated with eye catching art and sculptures which help to elevate the shopping experience.
We moved on to explore the area between the two famous bridges in London. The London Tower Bridge straddles across the Thames river and offers a scenic view of the surrounding area. The bridge can be raised to let ships sail through. The lifting of the bridge is done with hydraulics driven by oil and electricity. In the older days, it was powered by steam engines.
We strolled along the river Thames towards the direction of the London Bridge. Although the London Bridge is well known for the nursery rhyme, it is just a modern concrete structure which does not ooze the same level of charm as its other sibling. Our attention was diverted to The Shard located nearby. The Shard is a modern addition to London's skyline. The building stands at the height of 310 metres and is London's tallest building. It is occupied by a mix of retail, offices, hotel, apartments and restaurants.
