Kenting is a popular destination in Taiwan for beach lovers. We took the high speed rail from Taipei station to Zuoying station and it took us about one and a half hours to reach Zuoying. This was re markedly fast considering the long distance which we covered. After that we boarded the Kenting Express Bus 9189 that brought us directly to Kenting in two hours.
We checked in to our accommodation at Love Sea 126 (戀海126). The boutique hotel has four levels and it is located at the corner of the street. There are many other similar hotels along the same stretch. Our room is spacious and clean and it comes with a balcony overlooking the sea.
The beach was right in front of our accommodation and we could feel the sea breeze from the balcony. Strolling along the beach and listening to the rolling waves helped to soothe away all the stress.
The Kenting Night Market is where the crowd flocked to in the evening. In the evening, street vendors set up stalls along both sides of the main Kenting Street. It is about ten minutes walk from our hotel.
There are many choices when it comes to food at the Kenting Night Market. We came across a stall selling delicious Cheese Shrimp. The shrimp was fried to a gold brown and topped with cheese and mayonnaise. It tasted so nice that we came back for second round in the following night.
We also had delicious braised food at 吴师傅卤味 along Kenting Road. The food was prepared with the soya sauce infused with aromatic spices.
