Florence is popular for outlet shopping where one can buy luxury goods at a fraction of the retail price. For this trip, we visited Space and the Mall which are located in the outskirts of Florence. Space is a outlet for Prada and it is a place that Prada fans should visit. We took a train to Montevarchi and hailed a cab to take us to Space Outlet. We could view a decent selection for both women and men when we were there. However some of the items were limited in stock and colors.
After that, we took a cab back to the station. At the station, we boarded another cab that took us to The Mall. The Mall is a huge compound with many brands located in multiple buildings on site. There is also a Prada outlet which is smaller and more crowded compared to the one at Space.
We went to the cafe at The Mall for lunch. The meal was decent enough for a touristy place.
We had a fruitful time shopping at the outlets. We boarded the shuttle bus at the area opposite Gucci outlet which brought us back to Florence. After dropping our shopping bags at our hotel, we went to Ristorante Palazzo Gaddi for dinner. We ordered lobster spaghetti and chicken fillet and this meal turned out to be the best value ever. The lobster spaghetti was nicely done with chunks of lobster meat and topped with half of a lobster in its shell. The best part was that it only cost 14 euros which was value for money compared to the chicken fillet which cost 12 euros.
