Korea Trip Day 8 : Yeouido, Noryangjin & Hongdae

At this time of the year, Yeouido was decked in pink due to the many cherry blossom trees in the area. To celebrate the occasion, street stalls were also set up along the street offering various food items. By noon time, the streets became very busy as the crowd started to come in.
After soaking in the ambiance of the Yeouido Cherry Blossom festival, we moved on to our next destination, Noryangjin Fish Market. This market was one of the largest seafood markets in Korea. After browsing through the huge market, we decided to buy abalone and Alaskan king crab from one of the stalls. After making the purchase, we were brought to a restaurant to get our seafood cooked for a fee. The sea food was very fresh and well worth the money spent.
After a hearty seafood lunch, we made our way to Hondae. Hondae was a very lively area with street performances by independent and aspiring artists. As we visited Hondae on a Saturday, we  also visited the Hondae Free Market where we browsed creative items crafted by various artists.

We chanced by a stall nearby which offered ice cream waffles for just 1000 won. It was amazingly cheap and every serving came with five scoops of ice cream wrapped inside the waffles.

We went back to Myeongdong to have our dinner at Two Two Chicken restaurant. We ordered a combination of original and spicy fried chicken. The chicken was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Having tried both flavors, we preferred the original as the spicy somewhat lost its crispiness due to the sauce.
