This morning, we took a bus to Piazzale Michelangelo which is located on the southern side of Arno River. Piazzale Michelangelo resides on high grounds and from here we were able to have a picturesque view of many of the iconic architectures in Florence.
We strolled down the slope from Piazzale Michelangelo and made our way to Ponte Vecchio. Ponte Vecchio is a medieval stone arch bridge which was built across the Arno River. The bridge is unique and well known for the many shops built on the bridge.
Florence is often hailed as the birthplace of Renaissance and has lots to offer when it comes to art and architecture. Today we visited the Uffizi Gallery where we viewed unique artworks from the Renaissance era.
We did not manage to view the Accademia Gallery as it was closed when we reached there. At the Accademia Gallery, you can view one of the world’s most famous sculpture, Michelangelo’s David.
